The truth will set you free

A good word will set you free!

haha!
Have you ever heard something from a friend, colleague, family member or leader that led you to an epiphany? Something just clicked and heaviness, the weight off your shoulders or the dark cloud looming over your head just lifted away?

The power of truth is delivering!

When I watch, hear a pastor delivering the real and powerful word of God, I am more free than when I was at the beginning of the message!

It took me a day and a half to watch a message by Sheryl Brady online. I was continually interrupted, but finally...FINALLY, I was able to finish it tonight and PRAISE GOD!!! The truth of God's word and the power of the Holy Spirit combined ALWAYS shifts your perspective to true reality! Its the matter of the heart whether it accepts this combination.

John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

I heard a sermon from Kris Vallotton and when he explained this verse, the word "truth" is not the Greek word "logos" (written word of God) nor "rhema" (utterance or word by the Holy Spirit)  but "alÄ“theia" (reality.) So the verse would look something like this:

Then you will know the reality, and the reality will set you free.

Kris describes how our heart experiences skews the way we think and view life through different series of tainted lenses. But when we know "reality" those lenses get cleaned, fixed or dropped off altogether! Old mindsets, paradigms, stronghold break off. Your old "wineskin" just got upgraded to a new "wineskin!" (Luke 5:36-38)

I am often reminded of the movie, "The Matrix." Whatever the director/writer intended the plot to represent, the parallels with how I see the spiritual reality is so similar. In so many ways, we don't see the reality of the things beyond what we just settle for and dream for in our daily lives. When we seek God to see and hear in how He wants to reveal Himself, His ways and His kingdom, we will wake up to a completely different world and such a epic purpose to what we were meant for. Being in the presence of God, and thirsting for Him and His word will adjust our lenses to reality. God's reality.

The reality will always line up with God's word through the Holy Spirit! The Holy Spirit is the one who reveals the mind and secret things of God!

1 Corinthians 2:9-11
However, as it is written:
“No eye has seen,
    no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him”[a]
10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Ephesians 3:4-6
In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 6:4-5
...for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age...

And God is true unto Himself. He will not contradict himself! I'll leave you with this quote from Sheryl Brady:

"...the will of God is the word of God. Don't tell me that God told you to do something that don't line up with this book right here!... It's one thing to know the book. It's another to know the author of the book!" ~ Sheryl Brady
