Clean Slate

I listened to a sermon a friend had sent to me today. It totally slapped me sharply (in the spiritual sense) that brought me to a posture of repentance. As funny as it may sound, repentance is a wonderful experience, because it unloads burdens that you didn't notice that you were carrying...or maybe you knew it but didn't realize the entire weight of it until the light of repentance has shown its true identity. Humility never "sounds" wonderful, but when you are in true humility, it feels right. There is vulnerability without shame. Forgiveness is given and seems huge and surrounding. It's a clean slate. True repentance turns away from the lifestyle of sin or even wrong mindsets because its the exchange of those personal desires and will of your own heart for the heart, will and plans of a wonderful God. In many ways its a detox of the heart in exchange for pure life.
