Ramdomness of the Day

Today I went walking in a new park with a friend and as we were walking and talking,
we noticed some things:
  • Super squishy ground...muddy and spongy
  • Tree branches hanging down low enough for us to part through(like a willow tree) that were peppered with red spindles (my walking companion commented it felt magical like sorting through the brush in Narnia)
  • A pudgy squirrel that look like it had a mud beard (We thought he might be on the White Witch's side)
  • A beautiful tree full of yellow leaves, shedding and creating a yellow blanket around the trunk
  • A skate park (aren't these kids supposed to be in school?)
  • A man practicing hockey on rollerblades in what looks like a small tennis court (it is not a tennis court.)
  • Another man taking photos of objects on the ground in the "court" adjacent (looks like he's laying down napkins on the ground)
  • A baseball/softball field
  • A surprising number of tennis courts packed with people playing
  • Some sort of narrow sand pit
  • A disc golf course! (I wanna do this!!!)
  • An actual golf course (doesn't look as fun as the disc golf course)
As we walked back, we came back around to another squirrel, smaller in stature and very active. He looked like a young squirrel... and then we noticed the squirrel with the mudbeard had also appeared. We then decided that he resembled more of Mr. Beaver from Narnia and was not part of the White Witch's forces.

He was larger, slower and still had that mud beard. I decided to call him "Grandpa Mudbeard."
My friend named the other, "Spaz" and true to his name he indeed was Spazzy.

"Spaz" was not only energetic but also bold and felt like he can do anything, as most young'uns have that notion. He ventured from the lawn into the parking lot, even as cars came and went, he would run (at the last minute) to get out of the way. 'Bold Spaz. Very Bold.'

We continued to watch him for a little while and decided to drive back. I rolled down my window and we fared Spaz farewell. He seemed to stop and stare as we waved and went back to his gathering. Grandpa Mudbeard had retired back to his tree long ago, even before Spaz hit the black pavement of the parking lot...

'Well, until next time.  Don't get too sick licking that ketchup packet, Spaz!"
