You Reign

This is a spontaneous session sometime last year as I started to fiddle around with the guitar.

Prayer and praise intertwined and giving surrender to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who desires that you and I be one with Him.

The recording is very raw so at times it can be difficult to hear the words.

Prayer:
Jesus, we come to worship you. We come before you now.
We bow down: every thought, every place in our hearts, every space, even the ones that we can’t seem to stop running — around, the busy-ness in our heads.
We just come, we quiet our hearts and our minds—the things that can’t seem to stop, we lay it before you. 

To say:
You are King! You are Lord of Lords! You deserve the highest praise, the highest honor—the highest place in our hearts, and our minds…our souls…

Prayer:
Have your way in us God. Every part of our being. Every part of our hearts. Every part of our ambitions and our thoughts of the future, present and past. Fill us up fully and completely. Let there be no space that doesn’t have the name of Jesus written all over it. The claim of who you are and your ownership. 

That we have freely given EVERY single part and continue to do so! 

We can’t do it Lord on our own! We can’t make ourselves clean. We can’t make things happen! 

But what we can do is to have an open heart. To say, Have your way! Have your reign! 

Holy Spirit, would you just come again in a way that searches and knows our heart… to know that YOU are God! To be totally filled. To be one with you! As in the vine, that you are the vine and we are the branches. There’s no beginning and no end. To be wholly devoted. 

We know that we are not perfect and you know that too. And that’s not the point! The point is to be completely Yours and you are completely ours! 

Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts and yet they are one! To be that close, to be that intimate, to be that entwined. That’s what the picture you had all along. What the church was, the bride and the bridegroom as one! 

The body as one! The kingdom as one! Have your way Jesus! Have your way! Have your way! Where you are the ruler! Where you are the King! Where you are the Lord! Have your way!

We give up our ambition Lord! 

Even our ambition of what we think it looks like in the kingdom. Have your way!
