Rights

The only rights we have as God’s children is the rights He’s given us.

We gave up all our own rights when we died to ourselves with Jesus on the cross, but when God raised us with Jesus, he gave us the right to be His. The right to be His children for those who choose Jesus.

As His children, He gives us:

• the right to be loved by a loving God
• the right to receive his joy from Him, who is our Creator
• the right to be in His peace at all times, because Jesus is our Prince of Peace
• the right to receive His patience for us, because that is His character and not the result of our actions
• the right to receive His kindness, because he joyfully gives to his children on His own initiative
• the right to receive His goodness, because he is a GOOD Father, who loves to give GOOD gifts to HIs children
• the right to receive His gentleness, because He leads us to green pastures and still waters; He is not only the Lion of Judah, but also the Lamb of God
• the right to God’s faithfulness, because He never goes against His own word to be faithful to us. He IS faithful!
• the right that God will always ask us for our choice to choose Him. He will never force us to make the choice to choose Him.

Therefore,

We have the right to love.

We have the right to be joyful.

We have the right to be peaceful.

We have the right to be patient.

We have the right to be kind.

We have the right to be good.

We have the right to be gentle.

We have the right to be faithful.

We have the right to be self-controlled.
